Fuelled by heartbreak and hangovers, and with influences ranging from Mars Volta, to King Crimson, to Nick Drake, London-based My Pet Junkie are a very distinctive three-piece.

They've released two self-funded CDs and launched their debut album (‘When You’re Not Busy”) at the Garage in October 2004, setting a new attendance record at the venue for a support band. A resulting Garage headline slot on the 5th March 2005 again shocked promoters as My Pet Junkie wowed a crowd of hundreds and broke their own record.

MPJ have toured the country in promotion of what has been a DIY project to the last. They've maintained a solid and ever-increasing fan base through playing regular, successful gigs as a part London’s underground scene, and recently impressed mainstream crowds at the London Astoria 2, Rhythms of the World Festival (headline slot), Camden Underworld (filmed for broadcast on Alternative Music Television), and the Kentish Town Forum supporting Ned’s Atomic Dustbin.

Thrilling to watch, with a truly unique style and songs that are at once both beautiful and bizarre, My Pet Junkie are London’s best-kept secret.
