We're finally playing an arena!

Not the famous London one - the infamous St Albans one. According to the flyer for our gig on the 13th July, the Alban Arena is 'The Face Of Rock'. If rock were to have a face, I don't think it would be the Alban Arena - it would be a really deep canyon with flames at the bottom. Or Jeremy Beadle's arse. Anyway, we're sure that Alban Arena WILL be both the face and general genital region of rock on the 13th, as there's 6 bands playing and it's going to be large. And rockin'. Possibily the biggest night St Albans has ever seen since the Romans left and took their feasts and orgies with them.

Tickets are available from the box office to collect in person, or by phone on 01727 844488.

We wish you all a happy easter
and we hope you get at least a
choccy egg or two or three
(eating all would be greedy).
Mini eggs are rather tasty
but scoff too many, you'll look pasty.
Buns will make you 'hot' and 'cross'
so why not go and have a .............. long bath.

G'day, pop pickers. Or should that be prog pickers? The site has undergone some updatageness - our full discography, including compilations we've been featured on, is now linked from the 'Shop' page and can be found here. All gigs up until May have also been added to the gigs page - so you can now be super-organised and plan your life around MPJ for the next three months...

For our next trick, we'll be playing the Islington Bar Academy on Wedesday 8th Feb (nearest tube Angel). Also performing are the spandalicious 'Otters'. Hope to see you there.

Yours lovingly, MPJ x

(P.S. Screw Valentine's Day)

Just a quick note to say that we hope Santa came down your chimney, and to wish you a happy new year. Oh, and to remind you that we're playing upstairs at the Highbury Garage, Islington, on Wednesday 18th Jan, and we'd be very happy to see you there. We're onstage at 7.45pm.

Wishing you a spandau two fousand plus six

On the twelfth day of Christmas my true love gave to me
Twelve moshers moshing
Eleven squirrels dancing
Ten gurners gurning
Nine lords a-bumming
Eight tokers toking
Seven swans a-shitting
Six doggers dogging
Five cock rings
Four ugly birds
Three french letters
Two rubber gloves
And a band called My Pet Junk-ieeee

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope to see you at Club 85 for our New Year's Eve set. Check out the gigs page to smell what the Rock is cooking...I mean, see what MPJ has lined up for 2006.

Thanks to everyone who came to see us play the Forum :-)

Spandau season's greetings to you all

Spandiddly season's greetings. We've got some new pictures for ya! Visit the pictures page to check out photos of our gig down in hell (below)....

Ok, it's not really hell, it's the Mean Fiddler. Cool lighting though, huh? There's also some fantstic photos from Rythms Of The World. See if you can spot the pic of Stu looking well-oiled in the style of Peter Andre...

If you haven't yet got your ticket for our gig on Saturday 10th December supporting the mighty Ned's Atomic Dustbin at the Forum, see our gigs page for more info on how to get your hands on one.

Hope to see you on Saturday! And remember...be good, girls and boys, or Santa won't come down your chimney.

**BREAKING NEWS**

On the 10th December, we will be playing the Kentish Town Forum with Ned's Atomic Dustbin!!

More details will be posted soon...in the meantime, take a look at the gigs page for more gigs in November and December.

16/10/05

Tuesday 18th will see us supporting the brilliant Renegades (Rage Against The Machine Tribute Band) at the University of Herts. Email us if you are not at student at Herts and we'll put your name on a special list to get in.

Herts, Beds and Bucks - no, we're not talking about Leon's love life, but a series of gigs we'll be playing this Atutumn. We'll be spreading the Junkie love throughout the Home Counties with gigs in Herts (Watford, Hitchin), Beds (Luton) and Bucks (Milton Keynes). More details to come very soon...

And if you didn't catch our gig at Club 85 recently, you won't have heard our new songs yet. There's three of them, so keep your ears peeled and your eyes pricked.

We'd like to say a big, big thankyou to everyone who turned out for our Mean Fiddler appearance. Seven O'clock on a Sunday evening was not the most rock'n'roll time, but we were very pleased you were there and we hope you enjoyed yourselves (we certainly did!).

Our next gig is on Saturday (1st Oct) at Club 85, and it's one of two unique gigs called 'something old, something new'...if you've been hankering after a bit of vintage MPJ, we're giving you a rare opportunity to hear our old tunes again. We'll be playing our first two EPs back to back, taking you back to a more innocent time when, erm, cars didn't have automatic rain-sensing windscreen wipers, you had to carry round a separate phone and camera, and the crazy frog had not yet been born.

The 1st Oct is a very special gig for us as it's a tribute to Lee Haynes.

Then, on the 8th October, we're back at Club 85 again for the second of our unique gigs. This time we will be playing brand new songs NEVER performed before!! So if the sound of virgin MPJ sounds sounds good (or 'sound'), then you have to be there!

So there you have it - MPJ bringing you something old, something new, something borrowed (an amp, probably) and something blue (Leon's jokes)...

Tickets are available HERE at www.stargreen.com - you can also purchase at www.seetickets.com, or go go the Astoria Box Office in person to buy them without a booking fee. We're onstage at 7pm - also playing are Caroline Alexander and Girlschool. Hope to see you there!

P.S. The links page has been added to, and the gigs page will be updated very soon...

Computer attempting to enter silicon heaven + payments to web host not going through due to card fraud = no site updates for July. Apologies. But computer has been brought back from the dead and card problems have been sorted - so here I am again, filling your screens with my babblings.

July has been a great month for us, with two of our most enjoyable gigs ever - Rythms of the World, and the Camden Underworld. Much Junkie love to everyone who came to these. Our next big 'un is the Mean Fiddler on 25th September supporting Girlschool. In the meantime, please check the gigs page as updates are coming soon.

Stay spandau x

New pics!

Want more? Check out the pictures page...

This week sees us playing our arses off (4 gigs in 4 days!) and putting Julia's new bass amp, 'The Beast', to the test. Hope to see you very soon.

Chamone, motherf*ckers! Next week is going to be a busy one for us Junkies. Please come and support us at the Horn Reborn, St Albans, on WEDNESDAY 22nd - we're headlining and it would be absolutely spandau to pack the place out. Ee-hee!

31/05/05

You can now view our HES FES PICTURE DIARY! Click HERE to find out why Stu looks like a maggot....

Thanks to those who made it to the Purple Turtle last Friday. We enjoyed the gig immensely - it's a pretty cool venue, and the sound man was a very nice chap indeed. Our next gig is upstairs at the Islington Acadamy, Angel, on the 12th June - please drop us an email (mypetjunkie@hotmail.com) if you are thinking of coming along, as we can get you tickets for the extra special bargain price of £3...less than the price of a drink in Area nightclub, Watford (where a glass of wine will set you back £5!).

18/05/05

Hola. Last weekend was a good one...we played twice at Hes Fes, a festival for home educators in Dorset, and we had an absolutely spandiddly time...

To see more pics of us at Hes Fes, go to the pictures page. There will also be a Hes Fes picture diary coming soon - watch this space.

In other news - our Biggleswade gig this Friday has sadly been cancelled, but we're playing at The Horns in Watford on Monday 23rd (supporting the fantastic PhoeniXdown), and we're also gonna be rockin' the Purple Turtle in Camden on Friday 27th. See the gigs page for more gig additions.

As they say on Jazz Club - ding dong.

12/05/05

G'day, possums. The site is now back in business - there was a temporary lack of updatageness due to my computer having a total spasm, but (fingers crossed) it seems to be alright now.

Check out the gigs page, which has now been updated with our forthcoming appearances...including the PURPLE TURTLE in Camden on Friday 27th May.

Pics of our band outing to Alton Towers are coming very soon - watch this space. Meanwhile, us Junkies are off to Dorset...arr.

Hope to see you soon. Toodle-oo!

Juicy double action. MPJ 2 days on the trot. We're insatiable for that hot gig action. Yeah, baby. We're playing the Horn Reborn in St Albans on the 28th of April...and if that don't pop ya collar, float your boat or, as we like to put it, make you jiz yourself, we're playing at Club 85 on the 29th supporting Youthmovie Soundtrack Strategies...they make us do a love-wee. Hope to see you at one...or both. If you think you can handle the junkie love.

The Water Rats. Kings Cross. Saturday the 9th April. My Pet Junkie onstage 9pm. Free lesbian girth for the first 3 people through the door. You know you wanna.

And now for a rare occurrence.......the PICTURES page has been updated! Click HERE to view us in all our dubious glory. There might even be a pic of a few familiar faces in the crowd...

In other news - we at three at the Junkie camp have been busy writing. Expect to be aurally assaulted with a barrage of new songs at some point in the very near future...

Proper bo, I tell thee.

Thankyou to everyone who came to the Garage last Saturday - as always, your support meant so much. We had an amazing night, and we hope you liked the free CD.

Special thanks goes to Ben for his invaluable help and for being just a generally great guy. Will you marry us?

If you tuned in to our radio interview with Total Rock radio on the 5th you will know that we discussed vampires, strange metal band member names and Leon's anal fixation. If you didn't tune in, you now know why.

We are playing the Water Rats on 9th April! See gigs page for more details.

28/02/05

Yesterday evening saw the return of 3 very tired but very happy MPJ band members from "oop North" - or in other words, our mini-tour of Nottingham and Liverpool. We had an absolutely awesome time and we met some great people, including Ed Tudor Pole and a guy who stole Leon's 'King of Bad Taste' crown by performing a song about being sucked off by his Dad whilst the other band members' parents were in the audience. We think we were appreciated (well, no bottles were thrown at us and we sold a couple of CDs), so we hope to return up North to spread the spandau sometime in the nearish future.

To find out why Leon looked like this, check out our crazeee photos and gig journal from our Northern tour on the 'Pictures' page.
